The Second "Annual All Fleas Aren't Bad" Market Nets Badly Needed Dollars for Wee Rescue

May 3, 2008 was our Second Annual "All Fleas Aren't Bad" Market. It was such a fun day for all who attended. We had beautiful weather, great entertainment, numerous visits from adopted Wee dogs -- all of this and we made some money. This could not have happened without Debra May. She has done so much to support Wee Rescue and worked so hard to put together a venue where we can raise money to support the great cause of Wee Rescue and have a great time. Summer is almost here and our costs will continue to increase as we receive more and more dogs. So a very special thank you to Debra May, Dr. Jeff May, Sandra Brown, the Wonderful Happy Tails Pet Resort and Crossing Animal Clinic from all of Wee Rescue for making this another successful Flea Market. Wee Rescue is truly blessed to have the Mays!

Many of our former adopters brought their Wee dogs to the Flea Market. It was so fun to see how far they have come, how wonderful they look and how happy they are in their new homes. We would like to share three of our favorite photos from the event. They tell a little of the Wee Rescue story.

Little Chester E., adopted about one year ago, was not at all concerned meeting big, beautiful Rio Brown at the Market. Chester has the mind and heart of a big guy. Rio showed Chester the manners we all would like to see in our dogs.

Kathie, one of our Wee Rescue volunteers, was thrilled to see one of her favorites and a dog she advocated for relentlessly. Carla, now called Carly, showed up with her Mom. Carla had a very difficult beginning and we were not sure if she could ever come far enough to be adopted. Thanks to Kathie advocating for Carla; the tremendous job Kyle, her foster, did on building her confidence; and now the love from her patient and very loving Mom Denise. Carly is just a wonderful, happy dog. All of us loved seeing how far she has come. This mini Wee Rescue reunion was repeated many times. Adopters brought not only their dogs but donations to help save more.

Kyle is holding one of his fosters named Windsor at the Flea Market. Windsor was a very frightened dog when he became a Wee dog. Windsor attended the Meet and Greet to give him some socialization time. He did great. Way to go Windsor!!!!! Keep up the good work and we will hopefully see you at the next flea market with your new family.

The Chesters, the Carlas and the Windsors are success stories due to the efforts of our foster program and your donations. Without you we could not continue. Thank you!

Thanks so much to Dr. Jeff and Debra May!

Clockwise from top left: Wee Rescue Volunteer Kathie is reunited with Carla, now called Carly. Above, Wee Rescue Volunteer Kyle holds his foster, Windsor, and introduces him to his fellow Wee Rescues. At left, Wee Rescue Chester, who found his Forever Family a year ago, obviously thinks he is a Big Dog as he meets the very patient Rio.
